The GBR-620 series are ultra-compact thick film heating elements fabricated on a 96% alumina (Al₂O₃) ceramic substrate, occupying the lowest power tier in the GBR heater range with rated continuous outputs of 1W to 2W. The series is designed for applications where the available space is minimal and the heat required is correspondingly modest, but where the voltage supply may range anywhere from low-voltage DC systems through to full mains-voltage AC. This combination of micro-scale power delivery and exceptional voltage versatility defines the GBR-620's position within the family: it is the element of choice when the thermal load is small, the footprint must be minimised, and the supply voltage is not fixed.
The standard catalogue provides a 2W rating at five different supply voltages — 12V, 24V, 48V, 120V, and 230V — making the GBR-620 one of the most broadly specified elements in the GBR range in terms of voltage coverage relative to its physical size. Each variant is configured with a resistance value calibrated to deliver the rated 2W dissipation at the nominal supply, and all carry a power tolerance of ±5%. The five standard voltages span the most common DC bus levels used in automotive, industrial, and embedded systems as well as both 120V and 230V mains AC supplies, allowing the same element family to be specified into products destined for different international markets without a redesign. The temperature coefficient of resistance of ±50 ppm/°C is among the tightest in the GBR range and ensures that resistance remains stable across the operating temperature range, keeping dissipated power close to the rated value even as the element warms during operation. The maximum permissible element temperature is 250°C. Electrical connection is via solder fields on the element surface, providing compact termination for direct wire attachment or PCB soldering.
