RSMP4527 Epoxy SMD Chip E-Beam Welding Alloy Resistor
The RSMP4527 is an epoxy-coated SMD chip e-beam welding alloy resistor with a pure copper electrode, intended as a current-detection sensing element. It is rated at 12W at 70°C and is offered in resistance values from 1mΩ to 100mΩ, in manganese copper or Karma resistive material. Values from 1mΩ to 6mΩ carry a temperature coefficient of resistance of ±75ppm/°C, while values from 7mΩ to 100mΩ carry a temperature coefficient of resistance of ±50ppm/°C. Tolerance options are ±1% and ±5%. Parasitic inductance is held below 5nH and thermal EMF below 1μV/°C, and the operating temperature range extends from -55°C to +170°C. The part is RoHS compliant and AEC-Q200 qualified, offers high reliability, stability and superb pulse load capability, and is supplied taped and reeled on 7-inch reels for 24mm tape.
What are the RSMP4527 Epoxy SMD Chip E-Beam Welding Alloy Resistors?
The RSMP4527 is a current-sensing resistor built from a manganese copper or Karma resistive element joined to a pure red copper terminal by electron-beam welding. The red copper terminal carries a nickel and tin plating, the resistance value is applied by laser marking, and the assembly is coated with a heat-resistant epoxy resin that gives the part excellent weather resistance. The RSMP4527 carries ultra-low thermal EMF and ultra-low parasitic inductance, giving it a fast response suited to high-frequency AC current detection as well as general DC current sensing, along with high reliability, stability and superb pulse load capability.
The RSMP4527 is offered in two resistance groupings within a single 12W power rating, each available in manganese copper or Karma material. Values from 1mΩ to 6mΩ carry a temperature coefficient of resistance of ±75ppm/°C, while values from 7mΩ to 100mΩ carry a temperature coefficient of resistance of ±50ppm/°C. Tolerance is available in ±1% or ±5% across both groupings, and both share a parasitic inductance below 5nH, a thermal EMF of less than 1μV/°C over 0-100°C, and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +170°C. Rated power follows a derating curve that holds 100% of rated power up to 70°C ambient before linearly reducing to zero at 170°C.
Physically, the RSMP4527 measures 11.6±0.5mm in length and 6.6±0.5mm in width, with a terminal dimension A of 1.6±0.5mm, a terminal thickness t of 1.6±0.1mm and an overall body thickness T of 2±0.2mm. The part is qualified to IEC60115-1 test methods covering temperature coefficient of resistance, solderability, short-time overload, resistance to soldering heat, base plate bending, flammability, insulation resistance, withstand voltage, solvent resistance, high-temperature and humidity exposure, high-temperature storage, low-temperature load, temperature cycling and load life, and is AEC-Q200 qualified and RoHS compliant. Parts are supplied on 7-inch reels for 24mm tape, in quantities of 500 pieces per reel.
