The RSKN4026 is a current-sensing resistor formed with a square-hole body and four terminals, produced by electron-beam welding pure copper terminals to the resistive body. The resistor body itself is available in manganese copper, Karma or Fe-Cr-Al alloy, each selected for low temperature coefficient of resistance. A full-metal construction, together with pickling and passivation of the metal surface, gives the part resistance to vulcanization and strong weather resistance, while the 4-terminal Kelvin-style arrangement supports accurate voltage sensing separate from the current-carrying path. The part carries ultra-low thermal EMF and ultra-low parasitic inductance, giving it a fast response suited to high-frequency AC current detection as well as DC sensing, and each unit is laser marked with its value.
The RSKN4026 spans twelve value and material combinations. In manganese copper, values of 0.2mΩ, 0.3mΩ, 0.5mΩ and 0.7mΩ carry a TCR of ±75ppm/°C and rated power of 12W, 11W, 9W and 7W respectively, while 1mΩ carries a TCR of ±50ppm/°C at 6W. In Fe-Cr-Al, values of 2mΩ, 3mΩ, 4mΩ and 5mΩ carry a TCR of ±25ppm/°C at 6W, 5W, 4W and 3W respectively. In Karma, values of 2mΩ, 3mΩ and 4mΩ carry a TCR of ±50ppm/°C at 6W, 5W and 4W respectively. Tolerance is available in ±0.5%, ±1% or ±5% across the range, and all variants share a parasitic inductance below 3nH, a thermal EMF of less than 1μV/°C over 0-100°C, and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +170°C. Rated power follows a derating curve that holds 100% of rated power up to 70°C ambient before linearly reducing to zero at 170°C.
Physically, the RSKN4026 measures 10.1mm in length and 6.6mm in width, with a body height of 3.0mm and a terminal-to-terminal reference spacing of 4.9mm; the resistor's side arc is used for resistance value refinement. Body thickness varies by resistance value, from around 0.26mm to 1.30mm, to set the specified resistance. The part is qualified to IEC60115-1 test methods covering temperature coefficient of resistance, solderability, short-time overload, resistance to soldering heat, high-temperature and humidity exposure, high-temperature storage, low-temperature load, temperature cycling and load life, and is AEC-Q200 qualified and RoHS compliant. Parts are supplied on 13-inch reels for 24mm tape, in quantities of 1,000 pieces per reel.
